Measuring the Two-Step Opening Force of Pull-off Caps with the POT-1
Updated: 3 days ago
Pull-off caps for carbonated beverages open in two steps. The POT-1 Pull Off Tester by AT2E opens them step by step and measures the force at each step, with an accurate dynamometer and a semi-automatic cycle. The angle of both steps is adjustable, and bottles of different heights can be tested.
How the test works
Install the hook on the cap ring and the wire in the lower position rail.
Move the pneumatic valve to the testing position: the pull system tests at a stable speed while the dynamometer measures the force.
Move the wire from the lower position to the higher position.
Move the pneumatic valve to the testing position again: the pull system tests at a stable speed while the dynamometer measures the force.
Return the system to the initial position and start a new test.
Product description
The POT-1 has been designed and developed to open pull-off caps for carbonated beverages step by step. It includes an accurate dynamometer and a semi-automatic cycle. The angle of both steps is adjustable, and the POT-1 is designed to test bottles of different heights with their caps.

Frequently asked questions
What is the primary function of the POT-1 pull-off tester?
The POT-1 combines a precision dynamometer with a semi-automatic cycle to measure the opening force of pull-off caps in two steps, on bottles of different heights, with an adjustable pulling angle for each step.
What measurement modes does the POT-1 support?
The POT-1 supports continuous, peak and PC link measurement modes. It measures tensile and compressive forces, with an accuracy of 0.05 N.
How is a test performed on the POT-1?
The operator installs the hook on the cap ring and runs the first pulling step with the pneumatic valve, at a stable speed. The wire is then moved to the upper position and the second step is run the same way, before the system returns to its initial position.
What air supply and data connectivity does the POT-1 need?
The POT-1 runs on a 0-6 bar air supply, weighs 15 kg, and transfers its data and force curves to the software.
