Simulating Packaging Line Abrasion on Bottles and Cans with the PLS
The PLS Production Line Simulator by AT2E reproduces the friction of a packaging line in a repeatable, accelerated way. It assesses abrasion on glass bottles and cans, on their coatings, decoration and labels, with adjustable cycle time, speed and conveyor border spacing.
How the PLS simulation works
The PLS simulates the abrasion caused by the bottle-to-bottle contact typical of packaging lines. The test is set with the following parameters:
Speed: rotation speed adjustable from 0 to 20 rpm, i.e. a conveying speed of 0 to 1 m/s at the 1000 mm diameter position.
Cycle time: adjustable.
Conveyor border spacing: adjustable from 50 to 150 mm.
Water nozzle: adjustable and swiveling.
Product description
The PLS production line simulator reproduces the friction of a packaging line in a repeatable, accelerated way. The test simulates the abrasion caused by the bottle-to-bottle contact typical of packaging lines. It is the ideal device for assessing the manufacturing quality of glass bottles and of their coatings, decoration and labelling.

Frequently asked questions
What is the primary function of the PLS Production Line Simulator?
The PLS replicates friction and abrasion between bottles on a packaging line, enabling accelerated and reproducible testing of glass bottle coatings, decoration and labelling without running actual production.
What container types can the PLS test?
The PLS tests glass, plastic and aluminum bottles and cans with sample diameters from 50 to 150 mm, making it suitable for quality assessments of both returnable and single-use containers.
