The STS-1 was designed to test the opening and closing forces of swing-top (mechanical-stopper) bottles. It features two precise force gauges and a semi-automatic cycle, an adjustable test position, and accommodates bottles of different heights.

- Install the bottle in the clamp and adjust the cover, then tighten the clamp.
- Move the pneumatic valve to the open test position and the draw system will test with a constant speed. The dynamometer will measure force. Then return the pneumatic valve to the neutral position when the test is complete.
